This Ingredient Cost Calculator is designed to help you determine the exact cost of making your cookies, including both cookie ingredients and icing ingredients, as well as any additional expenses like packaging.
How to Use This Calculator:
- Ingredient: Enter the name of the ingredient
- Package Size and Unit: Here is where you enter the ingredient size you purchased. For example, if you bought a 5lb bag of flour, you would put a ‘5’ in the ‘Package Size’ column, and select the ‘lb’ in the unit column.
- Used in Recipe and Unit: Enter the amount you used in the recipe. If you used 360g of flour in the recipe (3 cups) then you’d add ‘360’ in the ‘Used in Recipe’ column, and select ‘g’ in the Unit column.
- If you need to convert cups or tablespoons into available measurements, I recommend using Google.
*For the Unit selection: Choose either grams, kilograms, ounces, pounds, or units. Units would be used for things like eggs, or packaging.
- Cost Used: This an output. This tells you the cost of ingredients used in your recipe.
- Rate: This is an output. The ‘Rate’ column tells you how much 1 unit of that ingredient costs (either per gram or unit), which is then used to calculate the Cost Used when you enter the recipe amount.
