| Easy Cookie Decorating (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and what rights you have. |
1. Information We Collect
Account information: When you create an account we collect your first name, username, email address, and a securely hashed password (we never store your password in readable form). We also record the date and version of the Terms of Use you accepted.
EasySnap Cookie Designer™ photos: When you use EasySnap you upload a photo from your device library. That photo is temporarily stored in secure cloud storage for up to 24 hours while your cookie design is generated, then automatically and permanently deleted. Your photo is transmitted to OpenAI’s API for AI processing – see Section 5 for details.
Generated cookie designs: The AI-generated Color Guide and Projector Template produced by EasySnap are stored in your account until you delete the individual designs or delete your account.
Community posts and comments: Text you post in the community, along with your display name and avatar, is publicly visible to all users and unauthenticated visitors. Photos attached to comments are stored and accessible to anyone with the link.
Push notification token: With your permission, we collect a device-specific push token to deliver notifications. You can change notification preferences in app settings.
Usage data: We collect first-party behavioral data (screen views, video interactions, search queries, session duration) to improve the app. This data is not shared with any third-party analytics service.
Purchase data: When you purchase EasySnap credits or Masterclass access, we store a transaction ID and entitlement status from our payment provider (RevenueCat). We never receive or store your credit card or payment details – these are handled by Apple or Google.
Support messages: Messages you send via Help & Support are stored so our team can respond.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and maintain your account and authenticate your identity.
- To operate the EasySnap Cookie Designer™ AI tool.
- To display your public community posts and comments.
- To send push notifications you have opted in to receive.
- To verify in-app purchases and grant access to purchased content.
- To improve the app through first-party analytics.
- To respond to support requests.
- We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
3. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services
We share data with the following third-party services to operate the app:
OpenAI – receives your uploaded photo and AI generation prompts to produce EasySnap cookie designs. Subject to OpenAI’s Privacy Policy (openai.com/privacy).
Google Cloud Storage – stores uploaded photos (maximum 24 hours), generated designs, and community comment images. Subject to Google’s Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy).
RevenueCat – manages in-app purchase verification and entitlements. Subject to RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy (revenuecat.com/privacy).
Expo Push / Apple APNs / Google FCM – delivers push notifications to your device. No personally identifiable information is included in the notification payload.
Amazon – the app contains Amazon affiliate links. When you tap a link your device opens Amazon’s website. We do not transmit your data to Amazon. Any information you provide to Amazon after leaving the app is governed by Amazon’s Privacy Policy.
Replit – the app’s server infrastructure is hosted on Replit. Subject to Replit’s Privacy Policy (replit.com/site/privacy).
Resend – sends transactional account emails, including password reset messages. To deliver these emails, Resend receives the recipient’s email address and the email content needed to provide the service. Resend processes this information on our behalf, subject to Resend’s Privacy Policy (resend.com/legal/privacy-policy).
4. Data Retention
EasySnap uploaded photos: Deleted automatically within 24 hours.
Session tokens (JWT): Expire after 15 minutes.
Refresh tokens: Expire after 90 days or on logout/password change.
Usage analytics and session data: Retained for 24 months, then deleted.
Support messages (resolved): Deleted after 24 months.
Account data and generated EasySnap designs: Retained until you delete the individual designs or delete your account.
Community posts and comments: Retained until deleted by you, an administrator, or auto-pruned when the community exceeds its post limit.
5. AI Processing and OpenAI
Important: When you use EasySnap Cookie Designer™, your uploaded photo is transmitted to OpenAI’s API for AI processing. OpenAI may retain API inputs for up to 30 days for safety monitoring per their API data usage policy. OpenAI does not use API inputs to train their models. We have no control over OpenAI’s data retention practices.
The generated cookie designs (Color Guide and Projector Template) are returned to us and stored in your account until you delete the individual designs or delete your account.
6. Children’s Privacy
Easy Cookie Decorating is intended for users age 13 and older and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take reasonable steps to delete that information.
If you believe that a child under 13 has provided personal information to Easy Cookie Decorating, please contact us.
7. International Users
Easy Cookie Decorating is operated from the United States. If you access or use the app from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where our servers and service providers are located.
By using the app, you consent to this transfer, storage, and processing in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
8. Your Rights and Controls
Depending on where you live, you may have rights including:
Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Correction: Update your name, username, or email in the app’s Profile screen.
Full account deletion: Delete your account from Profile > Delete Account. This immediately and permanently deletes your credentials, sessions, behavioral data, favorites, and push tokens. Your EasySnap designs and their stored images are soft-deleted and purged from cloud storage within 24 hours. Your community posts and comments are anonymised (attributed to “[deleted]”) to preserve conversation continuity.
Delete your own community posts and comments: Tap the trash icon on any post or comment you authored. The post and all associated images are permanently deleted from cloud storage immediately.
Analytics opt-out: Go to Profile > Privacy > “Share usage analytics” and toggle it off. No behavioral events will be sent from your device after opting out.
Opt out of push notifications: Adjust notification preferences in Profile > Notifications or your device’s notification settings.
California residents have additional rights under CCPA/CPRA including the right to know, correct, and delete personal information, and to opt out of sale or sharing (we do not sell your data). To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below.
9. Security
We protect your data using industry-standard security measures including: Argon2id password hashing, SHA-256 token hashing, HTTPS encryption for all data in transit, short-lived access tokens (15 minutes), and hardware-encrypted secure storage for session tokens on your device.
10. Affiliate Disclosure
Easy Cookie Decorating participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. Links in the Supply Hub, Recommended Tools sections, and other areas of the app, may be affiliate links. We may earn a small commission on qualifying purchases at no additional cost to you. Any information you provide to Amazon after leaving the app is governed by Amazon’s Privacy Policy.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the app, our services, or legal requirements.
If we make material changes, we’ll notify you through the app or by other appropriate means before those changes take effect.
The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates when this Privacy Policy was most recently revised.
Your continued use of Easy Cookie Decorating after the updated Privacy Policy becomes effective means you accept the revised policy.
